Permaculture practitioner Stefan Sobkowiak, who was featured in the film “The Permaculture Orchard: Beyond Organic”, joins us for a special evening of conversation about how permaculture, agroforestry and agroecology can be used to enhance biodiversity in the landscape while also increasing food security. His success creating a thriving, diverse permaculture orchard in a colder, northern, temperate zone at Miracle Farms located in Quebec, Canada challenges conventional notions of using chemical & fossil fuel dependent industrial farming practices, and points to a proven way to transition to a food production system that goes ‘beyond organic” to a low carbon, regenerative, more secure food future.
This event is sponsored by the Lund University Human Ecology Division, and the Food Diversity Project in partnership with the Lund University Human Ecology Network.
